July 2021 Paper Pumpkin: The Adventure Begins

I really loved this month's kit. If you have been following my crafting journey, you know outdoor themes interest me. I love anything to do with traveling and the outdoors. These cards reminded me of my best friend because her and I plan on eventually buying an Airstream and traveling North America as far as we can drive! These cards are perfect for anyone who loves nature! I loved the colors that were chosen for this kit and the card layouts! So cute!
The first thing I do when I am going to create using a Paper Pumpkin kit is take out all the supplies and lay them out. I like to punch all the die cuts out before I do any stamping (as seen above). The next thing I do is look at the cards on the front and see if I am able to just start creating or check to see if I need to read the instructions. I was so impressed by the new style of instructions. I really liked this new format. I thought the stamp block and ink were super adorable (picture on right).

The next thing I do is tamp. I layout all the labels and die cuts and begin stamping. I let them dry a tad before I add them to my cards. While I'm waiting for them to dry, I usually get the cards ready by folding them and adding my personal stamp to the back of them. When I stamp my cards, I don't like to use the little ink pad that is included. I usually just use my regular sized ink pad. I am slowly collected all the little pads. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with them yet.
If you enjoyed this card, there are refill kits available, while supplies last. If you would like a refill kit click  here  to purchase a refill for The Adventure Begins kit. Are you looking for organization tips? Download and print the case insert and use a Standard Stamp Case to organize your stamps from this kit. If you enjoy these kits and haven't subscribed yet, I have included a link below to subscribe and a preview of next month's kit.

Don't miss out on next month's kit! You can click this link to subscribe from 11 July- 10 August. These kits are so fun and quick. I am usually able to complete them in 10-30 minutes depending on how intricate the kit is for that month and how focused I am on creating.

Enjoy The Moment

Enjoy the Moment....how do you enjoy the moment? I live a really fast paced life so I have to actively make sure I am enjoying every moment! It's difficult sometimes to just stop and take a breath. There are so many things that I want to do, and I try to fit everything in, but sometimes I forget to actually enjoy what I am doing. This project was the first project I created after my mini self-care vacay. I took the entire month of June of from everything. All I did was travel! It was a breath of fresh air! I enjoyed every minute of it! I am now in full swing with crafting and it is nice to be back. I have decided to change things up!

I want to work smarter not harder and I want to be able to share beautiful projects with you. Each week I am going to pick 1 style of card and I am going to then design 6 more projects to share throughout the week. This is very similar to what I did last week with the Christmas cards. This week I decided to CASE a project I absolutely loved from page 26 of the Annual Catalog 2021-2022. I always love so many projects from the catalog and I never make them. I'm going to change that this year. I am going to recreate many of the projects from the catalog and then use that inspiration to design my own. I have some really beautiful projects to share with you this week, and I hope you enjoy them!

This card used a really cool technique, I have never used before. You take a piece of grid paper, rip it in half, and use that as a template to blend on. You stamp your image and blend using different colors. For this project, I used Night of Navy for the stamps, Just Jade and Soft Suede for the blending. This was a time consuming technique but it was absolutely worth it! As you will see this week, I have been able to extend this technique to 6 very different cards.

I do find that when I make duplicates of a card, it is easiest to duplicate them during the designing of the initial card. I do this because I can then see how much paper I am left with to be able to use on the envelope and insert. If I design just 1 card and don't consider my duplicates, I may not have enough supplies. And when I don't finish cards in the moment, I tend to leave them in a drawer, unfinished, for months (or years).

If you are interested in recreating this card, I've included a video tutorial and a recipe card. The recipe card includes the materials needed as well as the dimensions of the pieces. Materials can also be found below with a direct link to your shopping cart on Stampin' Up! If you do recreate this card, don't forget to tag me on Instagram @dinodanielledesigns. I would love to see your creations! Happy crafting!

This week I will be adding a different card with the same layout as this delicious gingerbread card each day! Like I said in my previous post, I could not get enough of this layout. It is definitely my favorite! I want to make so many other cards with it! Maybe I'll work on fall and/or Halloween ones next?

This is the perfect layout to showcase all the different styles of DSP, and it is super quick to design and put together. If you need to make duplicates of a card, this is the design for you!

Snowflake Wishes Card

The snowflake wishes card was actually the first card I made using this design. I created it for a hop last year and thought it would be perfect to recreate using new products. I decided to showcase the gorgeous paper in the new SALE a-bration! catalog, available from August 3-September 30. I will update the shopping list when those products go live. I used the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper for the snowflakes and the Peaceful Prints DSP as the background. I would never have used red for snowflakes if it wasn't for the paper, but wow doesn't the red just pop!
Picture

Arctic Bears Card

I fell in love with these polar bears when I first opened up the Mini Catalog. I was supposed to go to Alaska this September but the cruise was cancelled. One day I will get to see these beautiful creatures in the wild. This gives me time to buy a good camera and practice taking photos with it. Until then, I will just have to create with this set to get my fix of these adorable bears. I was inspired by the combo of this set with the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP. This paper is gorgeous! So many shiny additions to the designs. Pictures really don't showcase it well. Believe me, you need this paper!

Penguin Playmates Card

Gawww! Aren't these two just absolutely adorable! I love this SALE a-bration paper! You can earn this with a $50 purchase, from August 3-September 30. I decided to fussy cut all the cute characters on this DSP. I used the coordinating colors Basic White, Fresh Freesia, and Bermuda Bay. I used both Fresh Freesia and Bermuda Bay for the sentiment and off-set them to give it a cool look. I originally just had the inner label blank, but I decided it was too empty with just the sentiment. I used the same snowflake stamp to add a little more fun!

Holly Jolly Santa Card

I can't create and celebrate Christmas in July without Santa! I love this stamp, he looks. so happy and jolly! He is ready to deliver gifts! I just wish it was sooner! I absolutely love Christmas time! It's my favorite holiday because I get to celebrate all December long! Don't worry, I won't stop creating Christmas cards when July is over, I will be creating many more from here until Christmas is here! If there are any products you would like to see in action, let me know! I love creating inspiring ideas for you all to use!
Picture

Rudolph Reindeer Card

Following Santa, or shall I say leading Santa, is of course Rudolph! Santa's lead reindeer! When I was little I watched this movie over and over again! It is a childhood classic! As soon as I saw this stamp set, I knew the Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels would be perfect for Rudolph's nose. I love how it shines in the light, it makes it look like it really is lighting up! I used the Sale a-bration Peaceful Prints DSP as the background. I also thought it would be too difficult to fussy cut the stamp with the stamped antler image, so I decided to use the punch to add the antlers, using Early Espresso card stock.
Picture

Sweet Little Stocking Card

The Sweet Stockings DSP is so adorable, I had to use it on this cute card! I used the coordinating dies to cut a matching stocking. I didn't like how the loop on the top looked so I took my snips and trimmed it off. This card would also look super cute if you stamped one of the cute critters from the Sweet Little Stockings Bundle and added it to the stocking. I love how simple and cute this card turned out! I embellished using the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels. These are my go to embellishments, definitely a staple in my craft room!
Picture

Santa Paws Card

Y'all get a bonus card this week! Like I said, this is my favorite layout and it was almost impossible for me to stop creating with it! I create this card and then counted and realized I had more than the 7 cards for the week! Whoops! Oh well, now y'all get the benefit of seeing 8 different Christmas designs using this quick, simple, and cute layout! This was one of my favorite cards I created. I love dogs, and this little doggo is so adorable! The only thing that would make this better is if this was a blonde German Shepherd! ;P
I hope you enjoyed all 8 designs this week! Tomorrow will begin a whole new set of cards using a fantastic CASEd design from the Annual Catalog! I will update all the shopping lists for these cards on August 3 when all Mini Catalog items are ready for purchase!

The Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite is my absolute favorite Suite from the Mini Catalog: July-December 2021. Christmas is my favorite holiday so I really had a blast with this month's theme. I definitely got carried away and have 6 other Christmas designs to share with you using this same layout.

I love how everything in this suite coordinates, from the little peppermint candies to the gingerbread cookies and backgrounds. I hope you enjoy this SWEET card! While I was creating it, I thought it would be perfect to use the white embossing powder for the sentiment on the label. I wanted it to look like actual icing. I could not be happier with the result.

I've included a video tutorial below. If you enjoy my content on YouTube, please like the video and hit that red button to subscribe to my channel. Enjoy!
