About Me

My name is Danielle D. Diaz and I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in New Mexico. I have been a maker since I was able to hold tools in my hands. When my family would take me to the store, I would go straight to the craft kit aisle, instead of the toys. My family was in trouble as soon as I learned about craft stores! I would ask for them to take me, and they would sit in the car as I shopped, yes I was in there for hours! I absolutely loved all of the possibilities of all those craft tools.

Crafting wasn't always pretty. My grandma learned very quickly, to avoid letting me use markers as she napped. She was covered in marker tattoos when she awoke. Crafting also allowed me to learn about science, especially when I tried melting candle wax in a plastic bowl. I also learned how to create laser beams out of yarn. As I dove and cartwheeled through the obstacle, my mom tried to open the door
to see what I was up to, however, the door was also used to connect a laser. Never leave a quite child alone, usually it's not good news. Thankfully, my family has always supported the messes I've made in my crafting journey.

I learned about Stampin' Up! about 6 years ago. My friend Angela took me to a card class and I fell in love with card making! I had tried to be a scrapbooker, but I'm too much of a perfectionist to ever finish an entire 12x12 layout for such precious memories and I take way too many pictures to fit on one layout. I joined as a demonstrator in the spring of 2020, yes, during a pandemic. What better time to work on crafting, than during a lockdown? Am, I right? I've thoroughly enjoyed being able to improve my card and 3D project making skills over the course of 2020. I am excited to launch my business January 1, 2021! Here's to a new year!

Other than crafting, I teach fifth grade, all subjects. I especially love learning how to incorporate computer science in all subject areas! Micro:bits have been my favorite this year! Learning and teaching coding has made me want to get my doctorate in Educational Technologies or Computer Science. I'm hoping to begin a program in the next year or two. I miss being a student. If you know of a good program, send the info my way.

I also love to stay active, running has been a huge part of my life. My goal is to run a half marathon in every state and as many countries as possible. If you know of any really cool halves in your area, let me know! Running has allowed me an excuse to travel more, which is partly why I decided to join Stampin' Up!, I wanted extra cash to be able to travel more. I am also a huge nerd! I love Harry Potter, Disney, Jurassic Park/World, and anything LEGO related! My dog is even named after a Harry Potter character! Her name is Sirius Black and she is an animagus. She is siriusly the most adorable dog!
