My Maker Journey

I have been a maker ever since I could pick up tools. My family worked day shifts and night shifts so they tried everything to keep me occupied. They would buy me the kits that had all the supplies in them to create some sort of project. I learned how to make ojos, pottery, candles, soap, flowers, and so much more. I loved it all! I made plenty of messes and mistakes (still do), but the joy never stopped! I learned at a young age that I could also sell my finished projects. This is how I earned money to spend. I bought a little receipt book and made my own loyalty cards. Little did I know it was mostly to give my family time to rest! As I got older, I took on new hobbies. I learned to crochet, paint, draw, 3d print, build LEGO, photo edit and paper craft. Overall I just like to be crafty in any way possible! I hope you enjoy the crafty Stampin' Up! Projects I will be sharing!

A Little Sneak Peek

I have been working on various Valentine's Day Projects using these adorable little robots! It has taken so long to fussy cut them out, but it's totally going to be worth it! Any guesses on how many cute robots I cut? Stay tuned for projects using these cute non-humans!

The Nuts & Bolts Stamp Set is so adorable! While looking through the new catalog, I stopped on the page with this cute little robot! I initially bought it to create Valentine's Day treats for my students. As I was coloring them, I thought these would make perfect Valentine's Cards for grown-ups as well. I paired the robot with the Rainbows & Sunshine DSP (that is free with a $50 purchase in the Sale-a-bration Catalog). I thought this little robot looked like there were love thoughts coming out. The cloud from this paper worked great as a thought bubble.

Often times when I am creating, I have an idea in my head and it doesn't come out exactly how I imagined. The first image is my initial attempt. I thought a pink heart would look good. If it was only the robot and the heart, I think it would look fine but it doesn't really go with the cloud or background. I decided to change the hearts to match the cloud, but I still wasn't happy. I decided the gray granite didn't pop. I added a layer of basic white and thought it was finally perfect!

These little robots are so fun to color and I'm glad because I decided to not only make Valentine's for my students with them but I am also going to make treats for the staff at my school! Eep! That means I will be coloring in about 70 of these. I think it will be well worth the time and energy. I love making others happy! I hope you enjoyed this card.
