Approaching Perfection: Birthday Gift

2/28/2021

"Approaching Perfection," is such a fun stamp set! I love all the sentiments in this set! They are so funny! I had to pair the fun nature of this set with some bright and fun colors!

I started out by going to the store and trying to find birthday related treats. I found birthday flavored Kisses and Cake In A Mug packets. The Kisses were so bright and fun. I knew I had to use that color palette. I found the closest colors I could find and created my projects with the Kisses wrapper as my inspiration.

I had so much fun figuring out how to make my first slider treat holder. I had seen many demonstrators create them, and I hadn't yet. I will definitely be making more!

March celebrates women so our group decided to make our February Blog Hop Theme, Celebrating Women. There are so many strong women who have accomplished so many incredible things. Let's celebrate them with a cute and powerful card!

My inspiration for this month's theme was Leslie Knope. She is a character from the show Parks & Rec and she is extraordinary! Her and I have many characteristics in common, but one of my favorite aspects of Leslie Knope is her style! Yes, she has a very unique style and I tried capturing it in these beautiful power suit cards!

These cards will be great for so many occasions such as graduations, job interviews, promotions, and birthdays! You could also send this to one of the women in your life just because you want to tell her how amazing she is! I hope you enjoy all the different varieties of suits I created! This set was absolutely so fun to create with! I can't wait to make even more suit related cards!
You can use any DSP or regular cardstock for the suits and blouses. I used the Paper Blooms and Flower and Field DSP for the blouses. I used the Well Suited DSP for the suit jacket as well as regular cardstock. It was difficult to pick the blouse DSP because we have so many different patterns, all of them would make really cute blouses!

For the skin tones, I used a variety of cardstock colors such as Basic White, Very Vanilla, and Cinnamon Cider. To add even more variety, I used blends on top of the cardstock to create other tones.

Perfectly Matched With A Touch of Ink

2/20/2021

Thank you to those that caught my FB Live on Friday! I hope you enjoyed these perfectly matched hummingbird projects using the, "A Touch of Ink," stamp set. I love how bright and fun the hummingbirds look! The combo of Granny Apple Green, Calypso Coral, and Shaded Spruce really bring the hummingbird to life.

Using this set made me think about the little hummingbird family with a nest in our front yard. The baby birds were sooooo tiny!

I really enjoyed layering the card and adding some flair with an embossing folder on the treat bag and bag topper. These projects will provide a cute gift for any occasion.

Darling Donkeys

Hello crafty friends! I hope you enjoyed these fun projects using the Darling Donkeys stamp set! I had so much fun creating them! As you may know, I love researching the animal, plant, or subject I'm creating with. Of course, I did the same thing as I was working with these cute donkeys! I found out they love eating carrots and pears! I was able to find chocolate carrots and pear flavored Jelly Belly candies to place in these treat holders. Eeyore would be happy! Doesn't the sitting donkey look just like him! He's just missing a bow!

Happy Valentine's Day

2/14/2021

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you have had a wonderful day! I know today has been different for so many people around the world, but I hope you were able to find some happiness and love today.

The card I made today can be used of course for Valentine's Day, but it can also be used for any occasion, just switch out the sentiment. I started with the "Be My Valentine", but decided on the "You Are A Rare Find," because it was more versatile.

If you would like to watch my tutorial of this card, it is found over on the right. --> It is a bit different than my other tutorials because I go through the entire process of cutting, scoring, and die cutting all the pieces. I hope you enjoy!

Checkout the slideshow below to see the progress I made throughout the last few weeks as I was preparing to send out these Valentine's Day cards to my family and friends.

Berry Blessings: Pi Day Themed Projects

2/3/2021

Welcome to a berry fun project trio! As you all know, I am a teacher and one of my favorite academic holidays is Pi Day! If you have never heard of this holiday, it is on March 14 because pi is 3.14 (well the first three digits, that is). As soon as I saw the Pacific Point plaid pattern, I automatically thought baking. I started some Google searching and found a pot holder design. I thought it was made of paper, but it was actually a real pot holder. I hadn't seen a paper crafted pot holder, so I thought it would be a really cute 3D project to design. I brought in the Ice Cream Corner DSP as the top of my pie and decided on 3 different color schemes for the the 3 projects. I love how they turned out, but my favorite is the Pot Holder Treat! Which of the 3 is your favorite?
