Error Age Not Found

10/29/2022

No one likes to see an error message on their device, but this is one you can get behind. This Error 404: age not found sentiment is so cute! This card would be perfect for those computer loving friends, or a friend who doesn't want to share their age ;). I was inspired by the pop-up error message that seems to duplicate instead of close out! I hope you enjoy this fun and hopefully not annoying, birthday message card! If you need supplies to create this project, click here to shop.
Picture
I started out with creating the duplicate error message card by cutting out 3 rectangles and attaching them in a pop-up diagonal.
Picture
Next I stamped candles on the card front using a basic white sheet. Originally I thought about using a different shade of blue, but it looked too busy.
Picture
I then added an embossed piece using the 0 and 1 stamp. I chose Pacific Point to resemble the blue screen you see with all the code written across it.

Picture
I then attached the duplicate error message using dimensionals to really make it "pop-up!"
Picture
The inside needed some form of decoration to tie it all together, so I decided on candles to mimic the card front.
Picture
The envelope also needed to match. I opted to stamp the candles on the flap and include the same cake and error on the bottom left corner as the card.

This week I have decided to feature different types of treat containers, and today's project is no different. I have been wanting to create a treat pocket for Apple Cider or Hot Chocolate for awhile now and I finally did it! These would be so fun on a place setting for Thanksgiving. If you don't want to staples to show, you could make the DSP layer larger and cover them up. If you need supplies to create this project, you can click here to shop.
Picture
I used the Basic Border Dies, but they were a bit too long. I marked where I wanted to cut, I cut to the mark, and then placed the die underneath the left side, so that it would only cut the right.
Picture
I layered a lighter color cardstock on the inside (Mango Melody) to create a little more variety. I attached a DSP layer to the front using the same die I used for the flap.
Picture
I thought it looked too plain so I decided to stamp leaves on the Mango Melody piece. I decided to use only 1 color because I still wanted the DSP to be more eye catching than the background.

Picture
I cut a Pumpkin Pie label in half and layered it behind the Mango Melody piece. This creates a faux shadow effect.
Picture
If you don't want the staples to be as prominent, you could cover them or color the tops to blend in with your project.
Picture
I added a ribbon around the entire pocket and a sentiment stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink with a leaf in the background.

Hey Pumpkin

Hey Pumpkin! Do you love pumpkins as much as me? They are just so adorable and festive! I wanted to figure out a way to make a pumpkin treat box and the Design a Treat Box Dies worked perfectly! I added two different green ribbons to resemble the top of the pumpkin. You can purchase the products to make this cute project, here.
Picture
I used the same color of ink to each using a blending brush. This made the pumpkin have more variety.
Picture
I used the Penguin Place stamps to create the pumpkin face. The mouth is made from the bottom of the hat stamp from the same set.

Pretty Pillow Box Halloween Treat

Happy Halloween, almost! This week I will be showcasing different treats you can make for those last minute Halloween projects. These are cute, simple, and relatively quick to make! I used the Celebrate Everything Host DSP as the Pillow Box. You can leave it completely alone, or you could color in some of the pumpkins to make it more vibrant. I love this die because it is cute and quick, which is perfect if you are going to make many duplicates to give out. If you need supplies to create this project, click here to shop.
Picture
My first mistake using this die happened on this project. I cut it out just as you see here and then went to fold it and it ended up being upside down. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Make sure if you are using a DSP with images, you cut it upside down.
Picture
When die cutting holes to allow opening and closing of the box, use a pen or pencil to draw in circles. This will allow you to align the die perfectly every time!
Picture
I originally only stamped the To and From on this tag but thought it looked too plain! I decided to add on bats in the background by stamping off first. I'm glad I did, it looks so much better this way!

On Thursday, my best friend graduated with her Masters in Psychology! I made a special card for her to celebrate this momentous occasion! I chose to use Gorgeous Grape to match Grand Canyon University's school color. I used the diploma stamp on the background and decided to also stamp some diplomas on Basic White and fussy cut them out. They added flair and dimension! The adhesive backed stars were the perfect addition to call more attention to the newspaper. If you would like to purchase supplies to recreate this card, click here.

I am so proud of Elena! She has worked so hard, made so many sacrifices, and climbed every obstacle to get to this point! Yay! Now, it's time to celebrate!
Picture
Here is my sketch that I created before I started working with my supplies. Originally I had thought I would add some vellum in between the card front layer and the newspaper cut but it took away too much of the image.
Picture
Picture
I decided to leave the inside blank, but still wanted to even out the heaviness of the card so I still opted to include an insert. To coordinate the envelope, I stamped a piece of Gorgeous Grape with diplomas and attached it to the flap of the envelope. I then stamped the bottom left corner full strength with the same sentiment as the card and stamped off diplomas a couple times to make sure you could read the sentiment.

Stamps/Dies: Breaking News Photopolymer Stamp Set
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Gray Granite (light blending color on newspaper)

I am really enjoying sketching my cards out first. I am a teacher and I always have my students sketch first before they create anything and I'm not sure why I haven't been following my own strategies. It is so much easier to create once I have a vision. I am wasting less supplies and having to get up and down less because I know what I need. It's also been less stressful because I already have a plan. My Haunted House card came out pretty close to my sketch with minor adjustments. I love seeing them side-by-side. I'd love to hear from you all, do you sketch before you create?
Picture
Step 1: Create a hill mask, use the top half and add Rich Razzleberry to create the hill.
Picture
Step 2: Use the bottom half of the mask to cover the hill and create a dark sky using Blackberry Bliss, Starry Sky, and Night of Navy.
Picture
Step 3: Add droplets of water to the sky, keep the bottom mask on.

Picture
Step 4: Use a paper towel to remove excess water.
Picture
Step 5: Use of Wink of Stella to create stars in the sky.
Picture
Step 6: Use white embossing powder to add the moon.

Picture
Step 7: Trace the house on a white pice of paper and color in where the windows will be.
Picture
Step 8: Place the haunted house on the card to check spacing for the trick-or-treaters.
Picture
Step 9: Place the trick-or-treaters where you want them on the card, then close the Stamparatus and pick up the stamps.

Picture
Step 10: Stamp as many times as you need to make the silhouettes really dark.
Picture
Step 11: Attach the house using dimensionals.
Picture
Step 12: Attach the clouds and bats using liquid glue.

Picture
Step 13: Attach Metallic Mesh Ribbon under label and attach label using dimensionals.
Picture
Step 14: Attach card front to card base.
Picture
Step 15: Add embellishments.

Picture
Step 16: Add color using a blending brush to the insert and envelope decor.
Picture
Step 17: Attach envelope decor and stamp sentiment on envelope.

Kayak Adventure

When I first flipped through the annual catalog, I fell in love with this card found on page 85. I absolutely new I wanted to CASE it but I never made the set a priority. I finally did it! I absolutely love how it turned out! It's gorgeous! I changed a few things to make it more me. I used more vibrant colors when coloring the kayak and adventurer. I used Old Olive to stamp the lily pads on instead of white. I didn't want the blue to blend together, so I took a blending brush and added some color to the edges and made the bottom piece darker than the top pieces. I also changed the sentiment cardstock to old olive to become more of a focal point. I'm so glad I finally got to create this card.

I have never gone kayaking, but it is on my list! I have been dreaming of adventure the last week. I can't wait until I am exploring a new place again! Until then, I will just have to live vicariously through the characters on my cards!

The Warm Welcome Bundle can also make regular, non-spooky houses. This card is perfect for someone who has just moved in to a new house, bought their first house, and/or moved to a new city! I used a neutral color scheme that will work for any recipient. I chose to color the flowers bright yellow to really capture the audience's attention. If you would like to purchase any items to create this beautiful card, click here to shop.

I wanted to be sure to include these two pictures side-by-side to really see how much depth is added when you use blending brushes. I included a bit of color on 4 different parts using a blending brush, can you find all 4?
Picture
I don't always sketch my card design, but I am currently on a sprained ankle and cannot walk around to grab all my materials. I decided to plan the card out beforehand to limit the amount of walking. I should really sketch more often because it was less cleaning after making this card. Usually, my table is a hot mess when I am done creating! I also like to see how close my final creation is to my sketch. My design was pretty darn close to the final product!
