Merry Christmas Card

When I first started out with this card, I had a fall/autumn card in mind, but it ended up being more of a Christmas card. I definitely think it could be a fall card, but I did not have the right sentiments/decor to fully embrace the fall vibes! I want to try this card with blue next to mimic snow in the background. This card was all about change! I originally planned to have the card base be very vanilla with the very vanilla card front, but it blended in too much and didn't look right. I quickly changed the card base to match the ribbon. If you would like to purchase products used in this project, click here.

I started off by creating a frame with washi tape. You can make this thiner or thicker depending on the type of look you are going for.

I used a blending brush to add color, water drops to remove color, and then stamped dots to create more texture.

I then carefully took the tape off to reveal the faux frame! Be careful on this step! If you wait too long the tape will rip the card stock.

Once you take off the tape completely, this is what it'll look like. I think it's gorgeous just like this, but I couldn't stop there.

Next, I added a ribbon around the bottom of the card front and tied it into a bow.

I added the sentiment on the bottom right using dimensionals and added embellishments.
