New Mexico Sunsets

A few weeks ago, I received a special request for NM themed cards. As soon as I received this request, I started brainstorming everything related to New Mexico. The top three were included in this card the Sandia Mountains, the Rio Grande, and hot air balloons! The only problem, was the hot air balloon set was retired. I double checked online and to my surprise the french version of the set was still available on the clearance rack! Woo hoo! I absolutely love how this card turned out! Very New Mexico!
Here's a picture of the Sandia Mountains on a trail near the Rio Grande. I checked to see if I had any pictures of the river and the mountains, but I usually run the river in the morning and not during sunset. This was the best picture I had of the color of the mountains at sunset. Sandia means watermelon in Spanish, and with this picture, you can see exactly why they have their name. They turn a beautiful pink color just like watermelon. The landscape here in NM is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. I may be a little biased since I live here. But really though, it's gorgeous! Especially at sunset.

When I am making multiple copies of a specific card, I like to prep all the same type of pieces first before i assemble. This has been the most efficient way to create duplicate cards. When you are selling or gifting sets of cards, the acetate boxes from Stampin' Up! are perfect to hold 4-5 cards, depending on the amount of layers on your card. The boxes look professional and they keep your cards safe!

On my sample card, I included the "Life is a beautiful ride" sentiment but really any sentiment would work on this card. It can be for a happy occasion like a birthday, wedding, or new addition to a family. It can also work for a solemn occasion. You can also leave it completely blank on the inside and allow the sender to write their own message. I also created a few versions with a tag on the front with the sentiment. I found that a smaller sentiment on the card works well because it does not cover too much of the gorgeous scene.
