The Nuts & Bolts Stamp Set is so adorable! While looking through the new catalog, I stopped on the page with this cute little robot! I initially bought it to create Valentine's Day treats for my students. As I was coloring them, I thought these would make perfect Valentine's Cards for grown-ups as well. I paired the robot with the Rainbows & Sunshine DSP (that is free with a $50 purchase in the Sale-a-bration Catalog). I thought this little robot looked like there were love thoughts coming out. The cloud from this paper worked great as a thought bubble.
Often times when I am creating, I have an idea in my head and it doesn't come out exactly how I imagined. The first image is my initial attempt. I thought a pink heart would look good. If it was only the robot and the heart, I think it would look fine but it doesn't really go with the cloud or background. I decided to change the hearts to match the cloud, but I still wasn't happy. I decided the gray granite didn't pop. I added a layer of basic white and thought it was finally perfect!

Happy crafting! This month’s theme is Christmas! This month I decided to try something new. I have seen these wooden ornaments all over and I just had to try it! I could not believe you can stamp and color directly on these wood slices! How awesome is that?! I used three different Christmas stamp sets to complete this projects, but you really can use any stamp on this you would like. If you don't want to make ornaments, you could purchase the wood slices without the holes drilled in. I used wood slices that are pre-sanded. I figured it would be easier for the stamp to set on a flat surface. I did wipe them off first because there was residue on them from moving around in the packaging. I didn't want the ink to get on the residue and not stick to the surface.

I want to work smarter not harder and I want to be able to share beautiful projects with you. Each week I am going to pick 1 style of card and I am going to then design 6 more projects to share throughout the week. This is very similar to what I did last week with the Christmas cards. This week I decided to CASE a project I absolutely loved from page 26 of the Annual Catalog 2021-2022. I always love so many projects from the catalog and I never make them. I'm going to change that this year. I am going to recreate many of the projects from the catalog and then use that inspiration to design my own. I have some really beautiful projects to share with you this week, and I hope you enjoy them!
This card used a really cool technique, I have never used before. You take a piece of grid paper, rip it in half, and use that as a template to blend on. You stamp your image and blend using different colors. For this project, I used Night of Navy for the stamps, Just Jade and Soft Suede for the blending. This was a time consuming technique but it was absolutely worth it! As you will see this week, I have been able to extend this technique to 6 very different cards.
I do find that when I make duplicates of a card, it is easiest to duplicate them during the designing of the initial card. I do this because I can then see how much paper I am left with to be able to use on the envelope and insert. If I design just 1 card and don't consider my duplicates, I may not have enough supplies. And when I don't finish cards in the moment, I tend to leave them in a drawer, unfinished, for months (or years).
Save The Date
I have decided to begin hosting virtual classes. If you are interested in signing-up, please save the following dates in your calendar. They are going to be amazing events! More info to come soon!

The Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite is my absolute favorite Suite from the Mini Catalog: July-December 2021. Christmas is my favorite holiday so I really had a blast with this month's theme. I definitely got carried away and have 6 other Christmas designs to share with you using this same layout.
I love how everything in this suite coordinates, from the little peppermint candies to the gingerbread cookies and backgrounds. I hope you enjoy this SWEET card! While I was creating it, I thought it would be perfect to use the white embossing powder for the sentiment on the label. I wanted it to look like actual icing. I could not be happier with the result.

Welcome to the Luv 2 Stamp Group’s 2021-2022 Annual Catalog Inspiration Hop. We are so happy you are hopping along with us. The demonstrators participating in this Blog Hop were presenters at our new Stampin’ Up! catalog kickoff event for our team. We wanted to make sure to share these beautiful projects with you all as well. We hope you gain new tips, techniques, and of course tons of inspiration. Once you are done with each post, don’t forget to keep hopping along by clicking on the next name in the list.
For the longest time, I wasn't quite sure what to do for the Inspiration Hop. I had all my preorder items spread on my crafting table and brainstormed ideas for each. I looked at the time on my watch and my background was still a winter scene with a purple background. As soon as I saw it, I knew what to make. I started with this winter scene using that same purple background, which included Fresh Freesia, one of our new In Colors. I absolutely love the way it turned out!
I couldn't stop there! I needed summer, fall, and spring! Pictured above are the color combos I decided on for each card. I wanted to make sure I used all the new In Colors, so I decided on a green background for summer which includes Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent. The spring card includes Polished Pink and Pale Papaya. The only card that does not include a new In Color is the fall card. I hope you enjoy these beautiful cards for every season! Below is a video tutorial and recipe card. Don't stop here, don't forget to hop along with the links below! :) Jason is up next!

I love how this card looks with the vertical and horizontal pieces! On the original design, I included green leaf pieces behind the sunset piece, but I didn't feel like that looked good with a circular piece. I thought I would pick an opposite shape and use the rectangle pieces behind the sunset piece. I used a basic black piece behind the crumb cake piece to really make the words pop! I also didn't want the crumb cake piece getting lost with the old olive piece since they are similar shades. I decided on using a crumb cake piece on the envelope flap to match the front and insert of the card.

Can we talk about these elephants?! The baby and momma are just soooooo adorable! I love elephants and especially love to see the little ones with their mommas. They often will hold the tail or trunk of their mom, just like a human child. So adorable! I will definitely be keeping this stamp set when it retires. And hopefully someday I can see elephants up close and personal on a safari in Africa. The landscapes and nature are so pure and beautiful, I really want to experience it for myself. I hope you enjoy these precious elephants and are able to celebrate the little ones in your life with this cute card.

Here's a picture of the Sandia Mountains on a trail near the Rio Grande. I checked to see if I had any pictures of the river and the mountains, but I usually run the river in the morning and not during sunset. This was the best picture I had of the color of the mountains at sunset. Sandia means watermelon in Spanish, and with this picture, you can see exactly why they have their name. They turn a beautiful pink color just like watermelon. The landscape here in NM is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. I may be a little biased since I live here. But really though, it's gorgeous! Especially at sunset.

On my sample card, I included the "Life is a beautiful ride" sentiment but really any sentiment would work on this card. It can be for a happy occasion like a birthday, wedding, or new addition to a family. It can also work for a solemn occasion. You can also leave it completely blank on the inside and allow the sender to write their own message. I also created a few versions with a tag on the front with the sentiment. I found that a smaller sentiment on the card works well because it does not cover too much of the gorgeous scene.
